After Irma

Good morning. Irma did a lot of damage in Marathon and the Lower Keys. Some houses in the Upper Keys on the ocean side close to the ocean with downstairs areas have damage. Irma was bad, there is no question about it. I certainly don't mean to make light of a devastating situation for some who lost most of their belongings but feel the need to state that it's not nearly as bad as the media makes it out to be. It seems that all reporters are parked in front of the worst destructed mobile home park, conveying this is a reflection of the entire Keys. Properties that were built after 1975 up to code weathered well through the storm and are a testament why the building codes exist. There is a lot of clean up everywhere but the Keys will be back to 'normal' much quicker than you think. They remain to be the only place in the continental US with a living Coral reef (the third largest one in the world), a tropical Paradise. I have had many phone calls from people looking to buy a deal post Irma, not a single "I want to sell right now" call yet. That about sums it up.
